• Maryland Writers' Association - (Arnold, MD) - A voluntary, not-for-profit organization dedicated to promoting the art, business, and craft of writing. • Voices for Children - (Baltimore, MD) - Voices for Children trains volunteers to be Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) for abused and neglected children in Howard County's Juvenile Court System. Volunteers provide emotional support and advocacy for these children as they go through the child welfare system. Voices provides training and supervision to volunteers.

• Amnesty International Local Group 109 - (Baltimore, MD) - One of the Baltimore chapters of the independent, non-political human rights organization Amnesty International. We work to free political prisoners and to end torture around the world, as well as to support the human rights of all.

• Maryland Food Bank - (Baltimore, MD) - Provides donated grocery products to non-profit feeding programs (soup kitchens, pantries, churches, afterschool programs, emergency feeding programs, etc.). In fiscal year 2000, 10,763,886 pounds of food worth more than $18 million were distributed. Of our total revenue, 95.6% goes back into our programs. The MFB is a charter member of America’s Second Harvest, the national network of 188 food banks.

• Maryland CASA Association - (Upper Marlboro, MD) - Child advocates and volunteers for abused and neglected children needed in Maryland. Advocates represent abused and neglected children in juvenile court for foster homes, child welfare services and child care.
